How the categories are organised

A trophy asset is rarely bought, held or sold through one adviser. A super-prime house in Monaco involves an agent, a private client lawyer and usually a private bank for Lombard or mortgage finance; a superyacht adds a broker, a flag-state specialist and a manager. The six categories mirror those roles, so a client can assemble the team for a single transaction rather than search firm by firm.

Each category page explains how that market works, how firms were selected and what to check before engaging one. Inclusion follows the same criteria everywhere: a verifiable track record in the ultra-high-net-worth segment, a public business presence and, where a regulator or association exists, standing with it. The method is set out in our standards.

If you are working in one market, start with the city hubs for Monaco, London, Dubai, Zurich and New York, which group the same professionals by location. For background on how these markets operate, the guides and the glossary cover terms such as off-market, Lombard lending and MYBA contracts.
